Let's Face It 2 Competition

KIEKIEBOX photographer Elna Moodie recently entered the London Photographic Awards ‘Let's Face It' competition. Calumet photographic are very pleased to be working with the London Photographic Awards and hosting an exhibition showing the winners and finalist of ‘Let's Face It' the awards for Portraiture photography.

Elna entered a series of photographs describing it as follows:
An amazing transformation happens to our faces from when we wake up to when we get dressed and ready to face the day. This series explores the different faces of one person waking up and what she looks like in her different environments.

The Private view and exhibition will be held at Calumets new gallery space from 27 – 31 March 2006 at 93 – 103 Drummond Street, London NW1 2HJ

Wedding Fair

On Sunday 19 January 2006 KIEKIEBOX was exhibiting at the Richmond Hill Hotel Wedding Fair.It was a rainy day but it didn't seem to stop many a bride to be.

KIEKIEBOX was running a competition where the price included an amazing 50% discount on the Story Package. This package is normally priced at a £1000 and includes 80 photographs, a lovely leather-look Henzo album and a CD-Rom with all wedding photos on it.

Congratulations to the lucky winner Sarah Macmillan.

Portraiture Course

KIEKIEBOX is in the process of obtaining licentiateship with the British Institute for Professional Photography and have recently attended a course in portraiture.

The day was hosted at the Fuji head quarters in Bedford and the tutor was Hossain Mahdavi. Hoss runs a superior modem studio in Hertfordshire, and is recognized as one of the leading photographers in his field. Apart from his many current awards including Wedding Photographer of the Year and London and Home Counties Portrait Photographer of the Year, he also holds the prestigious distinction of Qualified European Photographer.

The day was very interactive and included different types of lighting and posing of singles and groups. There was also alot of discussion spend on how to market your photographic services. It was all over inspiring and there was plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

Wedding Photography Course

KIEKIEBOX recently attended a course in wedding photography at the British Institute for Professional Photography as part of obtaining their licentiateship.

The day was hosted by David MacDonald, who has 24 years experience in the industry and has both FBIPP, FMPA qualifications is unquestionably Hertfordshire's leading wedding and portrait photographer.

The day started off with some good information on marketing and pricing followed by a detailed discussion and demonstration of different wedding poses. There was also a good discussion on lighting techniques. In the afternoon the group was taken out on site to get some tips on shooting in and around a church. The day ended with David critiquing some of the delegates work. KIEKIEBOX photographer Elna Moodie did very well and was praised by David for the quality of her work.
